Michael Dispenza was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1984. At an early age he stole his parent's video camera to capture footage of his friends skating and discovered the crude art of VCR to VCR editing. At the age of 15 he shot his first short film entitled "Static", which won first place at the Little Theaters High School film festival and was featured on Good Morning America. He later traveled the United States producing Action Sports documentaries that were distributed worldwide through Sadako Distribution.

In 2005, Michael studied film at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he began shooting music videos and commercials for local musicians and companies. Michael has freelanced for The Discovery Channel, Kodak, ESPN, as well as major corporations and universities around Upstate New York. Michael currently resides in New York.
